Alpha Autism

Although Alpha Autism is not specifically a graphic design organisation, it has a fundraising department where graphic design skills are needed. Alpha Autism provide a range of services to adults on the Autism Spectrum, including recreational activities, the development of independent living skills and an employment service. My favourite project for the week was the creation of PowerPoint templates that the organisation can use in their promotional presentations. I created masters for both title and content slides in the various colours of the Alpha Autism logo.

The background of the slides were created in Adobe Illustrator, prior to being placed as an image in Microsoft PowerPoint. The rest of the template was created within PowerPoint itself.

I tried to create an eye-catching design using a textured background. The background image is based on the concept of ‘many A’s’, highlighting the diversity of people on the Autism Spectrum. Although I did not create the ‘A’ image myself (it has been used in annual reports in the past and there are plans to make it a major element of the corporate identity), the challenge was to work on interesting ways to place and crop the image. I also that my background colours match the logo colours. The key was to create some interesting variations in each design whilst also maintaining consistency.
